Forgiveness & Letting Go of the Past

I did something last week that really caused me a lot of pain.  I’m sensitive to gluten and dairy, which I’ve known for over twenty years.  I’ve done quite well staying clear and still stuff happens.  For a party I decided to make strawberry tarts.  I used a gluten free baking mix I hadn’t used before.  The tarts turned out very well and my friends enjoyed them.  I had one as well and went to bed happy.  Next morning when I woke up I felt awful!

Turns out there was buttermilk in the baking mix and I did it to myself!!  Ahhhh…  So for two days I had the opportunity to practice forgiving myself and letting it go.  I used tapping to encourage my body to clear the reaction to the food and forgive myself for not reading the darn ingredients in the baking mix.

As you move through your day today, notice how much of your attention is focused in the past.  Who has hurt you?  Where are you holding a grudge?  What have you done that you keep holding as unforgivable?  Gently take what you are noticing into your meditation and tapping practice.  Tell the truth about your feelings and ask for the willingness to release and begin to let go.
