I love this time of year, when the days are warm and the nights are crisp and sparkling. It’s time to dig out the sweaters, plant bulbs and enjoy the changing of the leaves and the fruits of our labors. Did I sound like Martha Stewart there for a minute?
I recently cleaned out my closet and donated some clothing I’m no longer wearing. The rituals of clearing out and planting for the future helps to anchor my awareness in the present season, to make room for new experiences, rather than longing for summer to linger. Besides fall is a perfectly beautiful time to visit the Sonoma coast without the crowds and the fog that’s so prevalent in the summer. Being at the ocean is one of my favorite slowing down activities. I gave myself a full day this week to get out of the office, take a nap on the beach, meditate, journal and give thanks for all of the good things in my life. While the apparent chaos of the election and the economy are swirling through the cultural conversation, I choose to focus on what is good in my life, rest, relax, stay grounded and do what I can to nurture myself and my loved ones.
I encourage you to stay hydrated, slow down, breathe and get out in nature as much as possible to calm your nervous system and focus on the solutions for our collective challenges.
I’ve learned of two new wonderful EFT teachers in the Napa Valley and continue to find this simple self-healing technique to be of great value, both for physical and emotional healing.
Susan Maloney in St. Helena has two EFT classes coming up through the N.V. College Upvalley Campus. Thursday September 25th from 9 – 11:30 a.m. and Monday, October 6th from 6:30 – 9 p.m. Both for $60. You can register by calling 707-967-2901 or contact Susan directly at 707-888-0246. Private sessions are also available in person or by telephone. She will soon be offering classes in Napa as well.
Stephanie Rothman offers EFT sessions in Napa as well as hypnotherapy and can be reached at 707-320-2517.
More information about Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) can be found on the founder, Gary Craig’s, website: www.emofree.com.
May the warmth within you be nurtured and shared with those you love.
With love & blessings, Becca
